2017 Vintage Port Gift Box
Tasting Note: Fresh berries, gentle spice and fragrant resin sit within an elegant scaffolding of fine tannins.

Vineyard: The grapes, of various type, are grown on “Socalcos” (terraces supported by stone walls) and come from old vines, which are over 60 years old.
Vinification: The grapes, coming from old vines, were taken to the winery in small crates to protect them from damage. Upon reception, they were rigorously inspected on a sorting table, slightly crushed and then transferred to a traditional stone tank ('lagar') where they were foot-trodden. Later, grape spirit was added to stop the fermentation and fortify the wine. Aged for two years in large Portuguese oak vats and bottled without fining or filtration - meaning that a sediment may form in the bottle over time.
